If we could teach ourselves and our children what it is to be human

Then care would be cultivated freely it would not be mere obligation

Twilight Zones

A few white lies if they are infused in my truths

Will they make my moods and personality uncouth?

Masked in civilities if I pass off unscrupulousness

Will peoples turn a blind eye to the casual callousness?

 

There are honesties to live by and deceits to sort

Long story short. If I choose right then wrong I must abort

 

A few oversights if they further my self-interest

Will it be fine to transgress the lines even if in jest?

Veiled in wealth and stealth if I flex my muscles

Will it rule in my favor if I have and win the tussle?

 

There are no grey zones there are no thin lines

Integrity is clear cut any which way one defines

 

A few issues discounted and brushed under my carpet

Will I dictate terms of endearment or will I remain puppet?

All sins are equal and some are more equal than others

Do I compare with the arrogance and iniquities of anothers?

 

There is no escape from defrayal of your registers and records

One life. One death. Deeds and misdeeds. Go calculate the odds

Words are noise if they don’t have meaning

Attitudes are blocks if they don’t have understanding

Actions are hollow if they don’t have compassion

Breath is without purpose if it does not have passion

 

Tune in to your self and then fine tune the sharpness

Slowly pick up faraway signals and learn to harness

Listen with the heart and see with the soul

Fragments of emotions need to mend as a whole

 

Keep ears to the ground where feet tread softly

Keep hand on the heart and prejudge people gently

Brave fronts contradict the deep gashes concealed

Long conversations into the night reveal veneers peeled

 

Don’t keep tripping over your ego it can hurt

Keep sullenness at bay and annoyances curt

Let genuineness seep so deep into your psyche

Let prudence be your pilot to rear the Mindtree

 

A place where moods don’t swing wildly and affect

A peace where judgments don’t instill fear and impact

I am learning how to create a world full of justices

I am integrating all the seasons colors and solstices

The impostors may look like winning the loot

Karma is mandatory for being. Remember to pay your dues

What you do speaks so loudly it obscures what you say

If your actions do not match your words what will your words weigh

 

Be careful when you appraise for appraisals must be just

Don’t doubt someone at their best. Don’t judge someone at their worst

A sea of people hovering on their bubble endeavor to keep afloat

Be careful what you do with time it has tendency to fly

Its free yet priceless yours to use yet not to own or buy

Good times are precious like a present-day tryst with memories

Bad times are occasions a good learner would not miss

The good you leave behind and go will transform into goodwill

After long wintry seasons there comes the summer solstice

Balancing the warm and the cold the feeling is sheer bliss

The wait is so tedious you begin to believe something is amiss

But after all that you have gone through there is always justice

 

Some hurts make deep cuts inside the heart and nerves rattle

Some inequalities make you think you are fighting a losing battle

The pains and the injuries will take a while to heal and settle

But after all that you have gone through you realize your true mettle

 

Peoples and societies have their own agendas to fulfil

It’s not so easy to meet their standards and fit the bill

Herd mentalities shirk discernment and a strong will

But after all that you have gone through you have had your fill

 

Being alone is not a weakness you must always remember

Being yourself is not softness keep it simmering the ember

Your defending of scruples stridently is taken as unyielding temper

But after all that you have gone through you don’t let anyone tamper

 

Justice never fails as long as intentions are uncorrupted and pure

Hurts never heal if you cannot craft your own cure

Own your principles and faith don’t let the demons take over

Because after all that you have gone through there is deliverance for sure
