Right?

There is always a bigger picture

If you don’t lose line of sight

There is always much more to life

If you choose the correct height

To view the world and alter worldview

Walk past the horizon and into the night

All things mundane take away your time

Yet if you are careful you just might

Find purposefulness far beyond daily routine

Don’t pronounce it – society may take slight

Yes, there is career and status and wealth

People select bars and barriers, wrong or right

Public will tell you live well within your boundaries

And then expect you to fly high and choose bright

A conundrum called life ensues real time unused

It is their own understanding which is rather blight

Friends and family, with best at heart, give advice

Comfort zones are comfortable savor and sleep tight

In your silence, in your space quietly go over it

When this din dies down you will perceive the light

There is a world beyond your world. Alternate realities

Sharpen senses. Set course. Grow your wings and take flight.

Actually

What is the point in ‘I told you so’

Being proven right only satisfies ego

If you wait on the sidelines graciously

I will apprehend truth eventually

All actions need not be wrong or right

They’re learning experiences in hindsight

Each opinion you hold is a point of view

Even Almighty gave the devil his due

This human tendency to give instruction

Attesting each argument and seeking attention

Does it stem from some superiority complex?

Or does insecurity inside augment the multiplex

Why do people think the size of their brain

Increases exponentially with age? It’s insane

Maturity has little to do with chronological age

Chronology cannot justify prejudice or umbrage

I don’t have to agree. I don’t have to impose

My beliefs are mine. And they can juxtapose

Even with my own self from a few years ago

I am an unending process, I change. I learn. I grow

That moment when I cease to learn anew

The time I decide I need not rejuvenate or renew

I am effectually dead, breathe though I may

Take offense. At least react to what I have to say!

If only…

A lot of cells inside our body often repair themselves.

And regenerate.

They don’t inform us on WhatsApp about it

Or reiterate.

If I could learn this one thing from nature

And reverberate

It would be to quietly keep on evolving

And rejuvenate

Static implies death. A stillness beyond life

Yes. Life can be stressful and full of strife

Yet strife is what strengthens resolve

Achievements spring from problems to solve

When all grows quiet, listen to that little voice

This voice guides you into making the right choice

Thank you God

If our earth was just a little away from the sun…

Too hot, too cold whatever be it, life would not be fun.

If lush green lawns were of any other color…

Too dry, too wry, moods would certainly be duller.

If flowers did not open to such psychedelic bloom…

Too listless, too lovelorn, there would descend a gloom.

If there were no birds in their vibrant splendor…

Too silent, too harsh, we’d never learn to be tender.

If four legged creatures never walked the wide world…

Too tame, too lame, we’d be in an imbalanced swirl.

If we were not thirsty, if there was no water…

Too blue, too bland, we’d not survive a quarter.

If land was not land and sea was not sea…

Too hapless, too helpless, just where would we be?

If there was at the poles, no formation of ice…

Too warm, too wintry, Al Gore’s speeches would not suffice.

If each note, each strain was not in such perfect refrain…

Too lackadaisical, too lazy, there’d be no pain – no gain!

If there was no God to weave mindboggling magic…

Too pessimistic, too atheist, life would have been tragic.

If you choose to grumble, if you choose to cry…

Too hurried, too stressed, life will quietly pass by.

If you choose to say ‘thank you God’, you do not realize…

How swiftly, how softly, how paradoxically, happiness multiplies.

Armed with attitude, you may select your latitude…

Too rough, too tough, however you reflect, just voice your gratitude!

Positively yours

Think positive they declare in each appeal
Teacher, preacher, management guru
Is it honestly the way to feel?
Or it’s the feeling we shall rue?

Is it really so simple to think
Positive and rave and rant.
A relief to blame some other fink
For not doing the things we can’t? Continue reading “Positively yours”

Goodbyes

Goodbyes are hardest, parting is never fun
Yet each and every one of us is always on the run.
We meet, we love, we gain, and we give and forgive
Then somewhere down the line, we forget to live.

Commitments. Appointments. Beating the rush hour traffic
Carefully laid out business strategies, future plans are graphic
But when it comes to relationships, we tend to procrastinate
Tomorrow never comes; just memories to ruminate. Continue reading “Goodbyes”

Renew

Once in a while we must all renew
Our vows and promises and also review
Our lives and actions and keep in view
That relationships regularly need sinew

Once in a while we must go back to giving
It has pleasures far greater than receiving
Give what you prize what is worth valuing
Inherent in giving are the points for redeeming Continue reading “Renew”

That one ray

If I may catch one sun ray
It would most certainly make my day
I could make merry, I could make hay
I would make great sense in all I say.

If I would not lose my temper today
If I could be firm, if I did not sway
If I could gather courage and not feet of clay
I could conquer the world, if I may. Continue reading “That one ray”
