I appeal

I don’t exactly have to be
President John F Kennedy
Or Michael Jackson nor Tiger Woods
Just what is wrong in being me?

Free from social expectation
Free from giving justification
I want to break all the fetters
Free from offering explanation

From childhood they always tell me
What to do and say and what to be
Even as my intellect supposedly advances
My obedience is, for free advice, the fee

The rebel streak in my chromosome
Tells me I do not want to be a clone
I appeal to all folks – friends, family and foes
All I simply want is to be on my own!
