Today is a new beginning to everything I know
My eyes open to a new day and follow the flow
The sun and its rays, the wind and its power
Every speck in the universe is changing by the hour
Each little white hair adds to personality
Every bitter sweet experience brings parity
A semblance of sense, a sense of surround
Head held high but feet firmly on the ground
People change, friends move on, associates leave
Leaving behind memories, thoughts and ideas to sieve
Old order clings on to me even as I am forced to renew
A mind alert to adjustment, heart sensitive, hope sinew
Today is as fresh as snow slowly melting in the past
I must squeeze in my sheer desires before the day is cast
Where new implies growth and thinking must expand
Every frontward choice I make stamps my footprint in the sand.
